From a graphic screen showing standard motion curves
of lift, velocity, acceleration and jerk, pressing the F8
key on any of the programs will instantly show an outline
of the actual cam shape in question. The size of the cam
outline graphic can also be changed with a scaling
command.
Changing input values of maximum lift, tip
acceleration, event lengths or any other inputs will
quickly show the effects of those changes on either the
cam shape outline or the motion curves.
All programs permit rapid examination of many design
changes. After only a short time, users will be able to
choose the best possible design for any application. The
ease and flexibility of this approach is hard to believe
until you try it yourself.
