Cam Design Programs
CAM4ARC

Designing cams with circular arcs is an old technique
but with computers, complete motion curves can be
calculated precisely instead of relying on hand drawn
layouts. CAM4ARC uses 4 circular arcs for both open and
close side and includes ramps for each side. All arc
transition points are automatically calculated for nose,
flanks and ramps.
In addition to maximum lift, event lengths, and
follower radius, user can specify base circle radius,
nose radius, flank radius, and ramp radius. Input values
can be easily changed using a mouse and keyboard.
Recalculation and redraw for each new design on a DOS PC
(386, 486 or Pentium) is less than 2 seconds. Output
files include all motion data and summaries. CAM4ARC
generates flat or roller follower cam data.
